The German duo Trashlagoon has just released the LP “Blue Empire” on French label Delicieuse Musique. While both company and artist are often found under the house umbrella, “Blue Empire” is a diverse expanse of electronic that even rubs along smooth jazz in places. The 11 track album most prominently features their piano talents with a bevy of delicate melodies and chords in each piece, plus a whole slew of layered synth work. This is a sample-scarce collection that does delve into vocal bits and also includes a number of instrumental surprises such as trumpet, hand drum, and the harpsichord to beautifully accentuate their talent on the keys.
