After a little bit of a hiatus, we’re back with something special. Over the past few months, we’ve heard some amazing voices layered over blissful melodies.
The first track, Selah, meaning “pause and reflect” will do just that. You’ll be taken back by the shimmering chorus and sweeping synths, ready to glide into the next track, Any Time any Place, a magnificent remix of Janet Jackson by the beautifully elusive HiFadility. This track gets the energy going, your body feels relaxed, letting your mind leave its stress behind and glide up into the canopy. From your perched position on a swaying evergreen tree, you look out over a glistening Puget Sound, the track by Treasureseason helps you become aware that there is no separation between you and the music, without you, there is no music. You begin to float up even further, no longer weighed by the struggles of your mind, a part of you thinks “Maybe I’ll just keep floating forever”, you begin to get a little worried, considering the family, friends, and cool animals you are leaving behind. Hold Me Down, you say, to the universe. Someone answers, it’s Mansionair, you begin to descend. As your bare feet sink themselves into the soft earth, you find yourself under a majestic willow tree, the wizard Willow Beats appears chanting spells, an Incantation suddenly washes over you, you can’t move, you’re paralyzed by the euphoric feelings sweeping up from your feet, the drums, the bass, the wetness, it’s almost too much. You close your eyes, you begin to sink into the mud, you open you’re eyes and the Mississippi is right in front of you, you’re floating along with the slow current as the river sings sweet melodies of the days of old. All of a sudden…SPLASH!, you’re in the water, but it’s not cold and lifeless as you had thought, it holds you, embraces you. The river takes you under, and shows you Ten Things, of unspeakable color and light, you’re transfixed with awe. Before you know it, the river pushes you out, upwards, you find yourself in a Hollow Grove surrounded by pulsing orbs and dancing elves. You can’t believe your eyes, you check your watch, its gone. An elf comes up to you and whispers in your ear “It’s Dawn to Flight”. The elf pokes your bellybutton and all of a sudden you are back in your room, lying on your bed. Your best friend enters. “What just happened?”….”I’m not sure”, you reply, “but if you wan’t I can Make You Feel exactly how I just did”, and you take them to this playlist.
